Amazon!!

My host mom just messaged me on Facebook to inform me that I will be living in Iquitos for a month and a half (January-February) and it will be during Peru's summer! I am beyond excited! Iquitos is a major city which also happens to be in the AMAZON. Not only will I get to see the Amazon, but I will get to LIVE in the Amazon. Not many people can say that! I am so excited!! I think I've already said that, but I am just really excited! I am concerned about the bugs though. I have a deathly fear of bugs and the rainforest is infested with them. I guess I will just have to get over that though. I will be there in the summer too, so it is going to be very hot and humid. But, I won't melt. I have made a list of things I want to do while I am in Peru. A couple of them are: go to the Amazon and the other is swim in the Amazon River. Well, not only will I be going to the Amazon, I will be living in the Amazon! And, I'm sure that I will have the opportunity to swim in the Amazon while I am there. I probably won't stay in the water for long though. Just long enough for a picture to prove that I was in the river. Anyway, I am beyond excited for my year in Peru! The majority will be spent in Lima and a month and a half will be spent in Iquitos! This is so exciting! I can't wait!! Only 40 more days until I depart for the best year of my life!
